9/8 vs. Fresno State

Now that we officially know how to pronounce Mariota's name, we are ready for game 2. This Saturday, September 8th, the Ducks take on the Fresno State Bulldogs at 3:30pm. As we all know, 3:30 is the PRIME game time. Not too early, Not too late.

I know we're still a couple of months away from Thanksgiving but let's be thankful for a few things today people... 1) De'Anthony came to Oregon 2) Andy Schmidt has a designated driver for this game and 3) We don't live in Fresno.

RSVP here or on the Facebook page if you are going to be there this week and want in for food. Exact menu is still TBD but I'm leaning toward Byron Marshall Man Meat Sandwiches (aka Pulled Pork) and Colt (Lyerla) Slaw .

And in case you haven't seen it yet, Puddles in 2012!

Opening Game! Saturday 9/1 vs. Arkansas State

Well folks, the homeland is calling. This weekend, the migration begins and we will head South to Autzen once again, bringing with us our team spirit and our pork products.

This week for food, we're thinking "Kenyon Barner Burgers" on the grill.  Of course, bacon will be an optional topping. If you want in for food, just RSVP here in the COMMENTS SECTION for the number of people in your group and bring $5.00 per person.

If you prefer a veggie burger, let me know that as well so I can get enough for all you freaky vegans :)

Game time is 7:30pm. Our Tailgate Start time is projected around 2pm but feel free to hang out in the open parking spot until we arrive if you get there earlier. BYOB. Our Social Media manager, Dan Weinsoft, will update the Facebook page with any additional details as it gets closer.

And to get you really in the right mind frame, I leave you with this...

Apparently Bennett will be there. Will you?

Go Ducks!

11/26: Civil War

Well, It's that time of year again. The time of year where you have to start hiding your "Beaver Friends" on Facebook because they get more and more obnoxious as we head toward the weekend.

It's a 12:30 game this week so we'll probably do something "breakfasty" and Turkey-free for Tailgate food this week. Please RSVP if you are going to be there so we can make sure to get enough food.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

USC 11/19

After an amazing victory this weekend down at the Farm, the Bacon Wrapped Tailgate would like to officially earn back its name by bringing back the ... Bacon Explosion*

*BYO Tums.

Thankfully we're back at Autzen this weekend. Speaking of, we'd like to congratulate Stanford on their 4th consecutive sell out crowd this past weekend. For the record, we're at 79 (thanks in large part to the BWT crew of course).

Tailgate starts around Noon on Saturday (or whenever everybody gets there). We'll have other food in addition to the Bacon Explosion for you people that like other things.

One last thing-Our IT coordinator, Dan Weinsoft, is bringing us to into the Future with a little thing we like to call Our FACEBOOK page. We may end up phasing out the Blog eventually since the FB page is probably easier for everyone to follow but for now, we'll post on both. Make sure you Like the page so you know whats going on.

Kick off is at 5:12.
Weather forecast from Mr. Amato will be posted later this week.
RSVP in the comment section below to eat! The question is...Will Faust make an appearance to celebrate the return of the B.E.?

Homecoming: WSU 10/29

Hey Duck Fans,

We're back at Autzen this weekend and ready for Homecoming. Once again, the time of year where old people can go back to Taylors--Oh wait. Breslin was there last game :)

I know a lot of us will be dining frat boy style over at the Sigma Chi + Friends Alumni Tailgate this weekend so we're not going to do organized food at our Spot. So, BYO Food and Drink this week and save your $5.00 for the Cliff Harris Bus Pass Fund.

It's a 12 Noon kick off so we'll be there bright and early, hopefully fire pit roaring.

Go Ducks!

GameDay vs. ASU 10/15

Hey Duck Fans!

GameDay is coming to back to Autzen. Hope you are too!

Here's the plan. We are driving down from Portland Saturday morning and planning to be at the Tailgate spot around 2-2:30pm. If you get there earlier, feel free to BYO chair and take up space around T-4 and T-5. Game time is 7:15, so we'll probably eat around 5:00pm.

Food this week is CHILI & BAKED POTATO BAR. Please RSVP below so that we get enough food for everybody.

GO DUCKS!
UPDATE 10/14: Here is the "Jeff Amato/MVP" weather forecast for Eugene..........it's kind of tricky but it should be dry! I expect fog and clouds in the morning but it should break up in the afternoon and should be a mostly sunny and nice afternoon with highs around 65. The tricky part is when the fog/clouds burn off - they could burn off early for a really nice sunny day or they could hang around and not burn off until later in the afternoon.

As soon as the sun goes down about 6:30 it will get chilly quick so be prepared for a chilly game but tailgating should be nice and partly/mostly sunny!

Cal @ Oregon 10/6

Hi All,

I'm still recovering from Vegas this weekend but thought I'd let you know that we are planning to be at the game on Thursday so if you are going.... Come on by, bring some beers and enjoy the first night home game this season.

We're going to try to be there around 3:00. Since its a Thursday night game and I'm sure a lot of us are going to try to work part of the day before making the trip, we aren't going to do food (unless you count Coors Light as an appetizer and Bud Light as your entree). But for the next game (ASU), we'll do the whole-Tailgate sha-bang!

Go Ducks!

On the Menu? Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Slaw & TBD sides.

Football Season is BACK!

Well, it was a tough loss on Saturday Night but there is good news folks. 1) We didn't lose to Sacramento State and 2) Our uniforms didn't look like the fashion disaster that was Maryland.

There were glimmers of greatness and even though we didn't perform the way we wanted to, I'm excited about the upcoming season. We're back in the same spots at the Masonic Lodge--T4 & T-5 and ready for a great year of football and tailgating.

Up Next? The Nevada Wolf Pack. 12:30pm on Saturday.

Tailgate begins at approximately 8:30am. Since it's going to be a little early, we're thinkng maybe a breakfast burrito bar. Eggs, Sausage, Ham etc & all the toppings. Let me know if you have suggestions or favorite items. As always, all you have to do is RSVP below, bring $5.00 and eat. Please let us know if you will be there by THURSDAY at NOON.

Is it really going to be a scorcher? Meteorologist Jeff Amato shares his latest forecast here (UPDATED 9/7/11)

It's going to be HOT, HOT, HOT for the game. Maybe the hottest game day we've ever seen! Temperatures in the mid 90's but there should be a nice east wind albeit a hot east wind. Bring your sunscreen and hat!

Mr. Amato's Forecast

Here's your forecast for the game at Autzen on Friday 11/26.

Cloudy with a chance of rain. High of 45 in Eugene. Cooling into the high
30's by the second half. Models are mixed on whether it will rain or not
Friday. One model says rain for sure the other one says maybe rain late
Friday into the weekend. I will have to give you an update later in the
week.

When planning your game day outfit, fans are calling for a Yellow and Black "STRIPE OUT".

"Fans are encouraged to wear colors based on their seating sections, with those in even numbered sections wearing yellow and those in odd sections wearing black.

Also, it's Senior Day so get into the stadium early to get a good one good last look at Casey Matthew's sexy locks!

Arizona Game

Brr! It's cold outside but that's not going to stop us from a great tailgate this week as we cheer on the Ducks on Friday! I think we have a real advantage...how many Wildcats have even seen temperatures this low? Don't forget to bring your hot chocolate or coffee (and whiskey of course!) to keep you warm!

Direct from Down Under...Moni will be making some yummy chili. We'll have all the fixings, dessert and snacks. So if you're not too full from Thanksgiving we hope to see you at the game!

Let us know if you plan to attend the tailgate and eat so we can plan for the correct amount of food.

Happy Thanksgiving and Go Ducks!

Don't forget...there will not be any Maehl delivery on Thursday! But there will be plenty on Friday! Let's go Ducks!

Mr. Amato's GameDay Forecast

I am beginning to think tomorrow will be mostly dry with only a chance of rain later in the day. So.....going with a high of 58 degrees - mostly cloudy but dry with only a chance of showers towards the end of the game but I think most of Saturday will be dry with rain arriving in the evening.
Not bad for November 6th!

Homecoming: 11/6 vs U-Dub

Quite a game this weekend down at USC. I don't know about you but watching GameDay is kinda starting to feel like watching our own highlight show. And yes, it feels good.

It's only Monday BUT get ready to cheer extra loud for the Pick on Duckvision this weekend. That's right. The Huskies are coming to town.

Kenny Wheaton's Gonna Score! Kenny Wheaton's Gonna Score!

Game time is set for 12:30pm. That means an early morning of tailgating festivities. The Homecoming menu this week will be based on some of our favorite Duck players (a brainchild after a few beers at the UCLA game). I'll save a few for Saturday morning but to wet your appetite, get ready for some LaBreakfast Burritos and Jordan HolmesFries.
Please RSVP below so that we know who to expect and we can plan for food accordingly. The plan will be the usual ($5 if you want in for food. BYOB)

Also, if you or anyone you know is trying to get rid of tickets, let me know!

...and thanks to Omid Kianersi for posting this on Facebook this morning. Made a dreary Monday a little happier. GO DUCKS! We're your favorite team's favorite team.

New Blog Feature: Duck Weather Reports

Hi Friends,

Today, we're introducing a new feature on our Duck Tailgate Blog. As many of you regular Tailgaters may have noticed in your weekly Saturday conversations, we have a regular weather aficionado amongst us almost every week at Autzen. Last week, he even attended a weather conference at OMSI with the local weather guys to find out what La Nina has in store for us this Winter. No, I'm not kidding. How rad is that? So, we decided that it was time to take advantage of this man's love of all things weather and mad meteorology skills.

Introducing ... AmatO's Weather FOrecast
Each week, tune in to find out what's in store for our Ducks (and those of us that are braving the elements to tailgate). Up next... DUCKS VS USC this Saturday. Will the sun shine on the Gameday Crew as they make their way to L.A.? Will the fair weather Trojans be able to hang on to those slick balls? Either way, meteorologist Amato will let us know what to expect.

Let's just hope he's better than this guy.

Stay Tuned!

UCLA Game Update

#1. Wear Yellow. Chip Said So. Don't make Chip angry.

Our car and the Schmidt care are both planning to leave PDX around noon so we'll see y'all there.

We're #1! + UCLA Game Plans

The bad news... Driving to and from PDX on a Thursday isn't too fun (and work on Friday is going to be pretty awful)

The good news...  Personally, watching a game at Autzen is one of the best things I can think of doing on a Thursday night. I think most of you would agree.

The GREAT news...We're going to be watching the #1 Team in the nation! (Well, according to humans that is, and I don't know about you but I trust humans a lot more than computers)

Kickoff is scheduled for 6pm. I'm not sure if we are going to do an organized theme/food for this one since its a Thursday game and I'm not sure about everyones timing.  Let me know if you are going to be there for the pre-game festivities (by clicking on the Comments link below).

I'll send an update by Wednesday and let you know if we are going to do food or not.  If we decide not to do it this week, it will just be BYOB and BYOF.  BUT rest assured we'll be back with a bacon-wrapped vengeance for the U-Dub game. Theme TBD but awesome I'm sure.

A special thanks to Megan Roos' Facebook page for the photo from Sunday Nights BCS Standings program.

Gameday Gameday Gameday. Stanford on 10/2

Is anyone else having a hard time concentrating on work this week? Crap. It's only Tuesday.
That means we have 5 days of anticipation leading up to the big game. It's almost time for our Ducks to take on the "trees" from Stanford and I think we're ready to kick some Redwood ass! Speaking of ass...

Really tree? Really?

Anyway, kickoff is at 5pm but we'll start the party early in the day. I'll update the blog later this week with timing. Sounds like we're going to have a big crew this week (I mean, who wouldn't want to go this one?)

Theme and menu for the week is.... Oktoberfest! We'll be grilling up some brats and sides and rumor has it that everyone's favorite German Beer Wench Monika (that is a term of endearment in Deutschland) will be whipping up some German potato salad. If you have any requests, email myself, Ashley or Monika. Just like last year, RSVP to the blog (and pass along to anyone else you know is coming) so that we can shop accordingly. Cost for food is $5.00 per person.
GO DUCKS! Oh and when doing a search for the Stanford mascot, I came across this Facebook page. It only has 4 members but I like it. VIEW FACEBOOK PAGE

Go Ducks!

Hey Guys,
Just a quick update.
