CIVIL WAR FOR THE ROSES!!!

Well, last home game of the season and its a big one: Civil War for the Roses!

After the day of which we do not speak (ok, yeah, September 3rd, we're over it) I wasn't sure I'd be using the r.b. words but here we are.

I know it's a Thursday night game so I wasn't sure how many are a) Making the trek earlier in the day to tailgate or b) Trying to pack in a super unproductive 1/2 work day first.

We'll be there pretty early--I'm not sure what time we're setting up yet but I will try to remember to post as it gets a little closer. If we have enough of a turnout, we'll plan on doing food for anyone who wants it like normal. The menu is TBD and once we get a better idea of #s, I'll send a quick email and let you know... Maybe we can just add some beaver meat to the bacon explosion and call it good? mmmm. baaacon.

Homecoming 11/14 vs. ASU

The Bad News...Yes, the game at Stanford on Saturday really did happen and it was not fun.
The Good News...We're still in 1st place in the PAC, we control our own destiny AND we are at home this week so all of us can be there to cheer them to victory!

This Saturday is the homecoming game vs. ASU with a 7:20 kickoff (We will definitely make sure to bring the Fire Pit for this one. Brrr.)
For the game this week, we are doing FIESTA Week to celebrate the fact that we still have a chance to go to Pasadena.

On the menu, Taco Bar.

10/31 Game: USC

HALLOWEEN+ NIGHT GAME+ USC + GAMEDAY=???

BYO Riot gear because this really is a recipe for a crazy night in the Eug.

Kickoff is @ 5:00pm. Tailgating will start WELL before that of course. Exact time is TBD but chances are, if you show up, Schmidt will be there with at a minimum, his single chair, tent & cooler of beer.

Sounds like the weather might be a little more Oregon-like this weekend so for food, we are going to do a couple of different kinds of soup (probably chili & chicken noodle) with some sides. Rumor has it that Faust is planning to make something called "The bacon explosion" but that has yet to be confirmed. The plan is to have food ready around 3pm. Also, to further reinforce our tailgate name, Noah and Missy will be bringing bacon-wrapped weenies and we might even want to consider making Breslin a bacon-wrapped weenie Halloween costume!

Change of Plans for 10/3 Tailgate

Hey Guys...

Since it sounds like most people have other plans for food this week, we're going to do BYOB and BYOF for this one.

So you don't go hungry, here are a few recommendations:

• Raid the toast bar at the Chi O house
• Grab some Maple Cat To-Go on your way to Autzen
• Cheese filled hot dogs from a roadside 7-11 on your way down. Yummmm.

GAME 5: WSU

Hi Tailgaters...

Ok, game 5 is Saturday against WSU at 6:15. The tailgate start time is TBD but chances are, when you show up, we'll be there ready to go.

We know there is a Sigma Chi alumni tailgater this week and since a majority of our crew happens to fall into that category, we're going to do something pretty simple this week. We're still going to have food, just not a specific meal since it sounds like the timing may not work with the other event--its going to be old school tailgater style so people can eat on their own schedule--perhaps some bacon wrapped weenies, salads, appetizers, dips?

Just RSVP to the blog if you are coming and want to eat and bring $5.00 per person.

Game 4: Cal

Game 4 is this Saturday @ 12:30 vs. Cal (ranked #6). To celebrate our German heritage (we're all KINDA German, right?), we're going to be doing an Oktoberfest theme for food this week!

We're still figuring out what an Oktoberfest menu entails but hey! It's only Tuesday, we'll get there. As usual, please RSVP to the blog via the comments section below if you want IN for food and bring exact change ($5.00 per person)

GAME 3: Utah 9/19

Now that we’ve experienced the sweet taste of victory from beating Purdue last week, it’s time to keep the momentum going for this Saturday’s game against the Utah Utes.

Game time is at 12:30 @ Autzen.

If you want in for food, cost is $5 per person. Again, please bring exact change for the money can!

We will be BBQing hamburgers and hot dogs this week, accompanied by a couple pasta salads, chips/snacks and dessert. All the burger and dog fixins will be provided.

Many of you probably know that “Utes” is the name of the American Indian tribe for which the state of Utah is named. It is wonderful that the University of Utah honors this tradition. What you may not know is that Utah also has another important tradition. Thanks to Dan’s constant thirst for useless trivia, we’ve learned that Utah’s official state snack food is Jell-O. With the help of the Mormons, Utah is affectionately called the “Jell-O Belt”. We think it’s important to mock (uh, I mean honor) this other grand tradition and will be doing so in the form of Jell-O shots. There’s always room for Jell-O!

GAME 2: Purdue 9/12

After a...well, embarrassing loss on Thursday that we are all trying to forget, its time to move on to Purdue on Saturday.

Game time is 7:15pm @ Autzen

The official tailgate start time is still being debated but the best guess at this point is sometime between 12-1pm.

If you want in for food, cost is $5.00 (BRING EXACT CHANGE PLEASE! :)

We will be BBQing this week. Exact menu is TBD but probably pulled pork sandwiches, possibly some other smoked meats and some sides. (Very detailed I know. Well, it is only Tuesday)

The Official T-4/5 Tailgate Party

We have the same spots this year...T4 and T5 @ The Masonic Lodge!
It's BYOB as usual but this year, we're going to try something a little different for food and hope to make it easier on everybody who wants to pitch in and join the party.

Rather than do potluck style every game and make everyone have to resort to rolling coolers across campus (nothing against rolling coolers of course) or end up with 4 bags of chips and guacamole, we're going to try doing a little more 'family style' and a few of us (Now accepting volunteers :) will figure out what we're going to make for food, do the shopping and just have everybody pitch in $5.00/game or so if you want to eat.

Each week, we'll send an email out to the group and just make sure you RSVP if you are going to be there and if you have any friends, coworkers or family coming to that game so that we can get enough food. Just tell everyone to bring $5.00 cash
